West/North side monster hedge overgrowth removed to reveal decaying half height fencing. Neighbours have some light coming in from the East after years of shadow, but are left with a sad corpse fence that needs to be replaced. View to the city starts to appear in the corner of the lower garden as we chop back the overgrowth. The extent of the garden work needed is starting to hit home. Also conscious of the fact that the garden will essentially be a quagmire once groundwork starts.

Site survey done. Reveals we bought the most skewed house in existence. Wonderful. Not happy about that at all and it’s something you don’t see when you do the one viewing and the place is full of furniture. It’s a detached small(ish) house built on a steep North/South hill overlooking Bath to the North. Main house is just under 100m2 with a low level undercroft of around 12m2. Uninspiring late 1950s architecture with no redeeming features beyond the fact it’s detached and has some amazing views. The house was built by a couple who then lived their until their deaths.

Sun still out. Hawthorn monster at the side removed. Front garden cleared to reveal stepped beds, Skol beer cans and an abandoned hard hat.

Sun’s out. Rear patio cleared of bind weed. Front garden still a jungle. Not sure what’s underneath all the overgrowth.

Post completion. First look around inside. 60 years of tobacco hits the nostrils. Needs a bit of work.
